From today Florence is closer…

frecciarossaYes, from today Florence is closer by train. With the new “Freccia Rossa” the major Italian cities are all closer to each other. Here are just some examples with prices:

  • Florence – Milan, 1 hour and 45 minutes, 52 Euro;
  • Florence – Turin, 2 hours and 45 minutes, 67 Euro;
  • Florence – Bologna, 37 minutes, 24 Euro;
  • Florence – Venice: 2 hours and 3 minutes, 42 Euro;
  • Florence – Rome: 1 hour and 35 minutes, 44 Euro;
  • Florence – Naples: 3 hours, 71 Euro.

All prices are meant for a one-way second class ticket. We cannot certainly state that these are very cheap fares, but at least let’s hope that they will be worth the trip and that they will especially include cleanness  and punctuality, the lack of which is unfortunately too often complained by many passengers and commuters in the rest of Italian trains.

For all train timetables, special offers and other useful information please refer to the official website of Trenitalia (English version).

P.S.: our school is just 15 minutes’ walk from Florence railway station.
